City of Edinburgh men 2 will play in the SVL division one again in season 2017-2018 after their convincing 2-0 (6-1) play off victory at the end of season play offs.  Nine players in the 2016-2017 squad will continue into season 2017-2018 and will want to show that they can get results higher up the SVL table.

Ian founded City of Edinburgh Volleyball in 1995, and set up the City of Edinburgh Volleyball Academy in South Queensferry in 2003.  Ian led the very first group of Edinburgh juniors from the SVA National League division five through to division one in consecutive seasons and has coached the SVA Junior National League Boys gold medal team 8 times in 16 seasons.  Ian is qualified as a club coach with the Scottish Volleyball Association and is Head Coach of the Scotland East & North U17 Boys.  Ian won the Scottish Volleyball Coach of the Year award in 2012, for coach of a male team, and was awarded Development Coach of the Year at the 2012 Edinburgh Sports Awards.
