Its the harsh nature of sport that the old withering bodies of the stars today will be overtaken by a developing young talent not so far in the future. Unfortunately for our stars, who are fighting to be in the top flight for as long as possible, and is great news for the future of Edinburgh Volleyball, is that our club has no shortage of talent.

Mr MacNab is a player who has been tapping at the seniors door all season and has made a couple of first team appearances earlier this year. This picture may have been taken on the day he was told about playing for the seniors, although I don't think he would have been that surprised. Andrew's performance has just gone up and up in the second half of the season and he has reaped the benefits.

Iain Wallace – Standing at 6ft 5" Mr Wallace is one of the team’s ‘Middle Blockers’ and has also been with the team from the very beginning. Iain is an all round good player, you can play him anywhere on court and he will do a job for you. He will probably tell you how good he was afterwards as well! Iain is notorious for his old man tales of beer drinking from all round the globe and with both his hands stuck firmly in his pockets he will take you out for a pint one night in the Ferry. After taking a year out of volleyball to travel, Iain now plays for the second team to help them out before he skips off on his travels again, but as a good friend to us all I hope he returns for the next season.

Deryck Wood

Stuart McColl – Mr McColl is one the team’s ‘Middle Blockers’. Stuart is well known for his chat on films and a wannabe wrestler I'm sure. Stuart is slowly but surely working his way into a starting six slot. He made more first team starts for the Edinburgh side over the last two seasons than he ever has. Stuart who stands at 6ft 4” put a tremendous amount of effort in over the summer of 2003 to improve his jumping capacity and is a true example that hard work in the gym will get you places.

Sean McCashey - a product of a very strong Edinburgh Cadet squad. His leap into the national league is purely on merit. He has worked very hard since I first met him last November and has matured very quickly aswell which Im pleased to say...well almost! Dont let this innocent picture fool you, Sean can reduce a grown man to tears with his antics if he wants to.

Graeme Spowart - all round good guy ;)
