The City of Edinburgh Volleyball Academy offers exciting training and competition opportunities for boys and girls at U13, U11 and U9.  After the exciting offer of new programmes to girls at U13, U11 and U9 for the first time in 2007-2008. The club has had a very successful couple of years introducing and developing players at this age group and are looking towards a promising future!! 

At the volleyball academy City of Edinburgh Volleyball offers one of Britain's best youth coaching teams.  All of the coaches are qualified with the Scottish Volleyball Association and/or the FIVB (international volleyball federation) to coach youth volleyball.  Two of the players recently selected for the Great Britain men's team preparing for the London 2012 Olympics started out as young beginners at City of Edinburgh, which is a positive indicator of the club's programmes.

The volleyball academy is suitable for young players with some enthusiasm for volleyball or sport in general who want to get some good coaching, play in local or national tournaments and spend time with other players of the same age.

At the Academy the players learn teamwork, co-operation, fair play, general movement and athletic skills and volleyball specific skills.

Players who join the City of Edinburgh Volleyball Academy will be invited to participate in the EDVA Regional Volleyball Championships U13 and U11.  The dates, times and venues are at the foot of this page, below.  There is also a list below of national volleyball competitions where volleyball academy players can compete either for the club or their school team.
